How Do Weight Loss Injections Work?

In your initial consultation, we will discuss your current health, medical history, and your weight loss goals. From here, a customized program will be developed specifically for you and may involve a nutrition and/or exercise program, vitamins, and one or both of the following weight loss injections.

Semaglutide: This injection was originally developed to regulate blood sugar levels in those with Type 2 Diabetes. They were approved by the FDA for chronic weight management in 2021. By initiating a full or satisified feeling, the peptide injections reduce hunger and cravings without the common side effects of other weight loss medications like jitters, a racing heartbeat, or sleep problems.

The treatment is generally administered once a week to the stomach, thighs, or upper arms. Depending on your treatment plan, this will continue for 5 to 6 months.

Tirzepatide: Like Semaglutide, this peptide is injected once a week. It was initially used to lower blood sugar but is now able to assist with weight loss with FDA approval. This also signals to the brain that the body is full and slows digestion for slower eating habits.
